One down, five to go.
After a big kickoff this week in Turin, La Sportiva is continuing its Climb World Tour in Paris.
The traveling event will make its way across a total of six cities.
Following the Turn debut, the company will be hitting up gyms in Paris, Brussels, Stockholm, Vienna and Munich, in that order.
With each stop, climbers will get a chance to try on some shoes, participate in climbing challenges, lessons, and hear talks from professional athletes.
La Sportiva is taking this as an opportunity to showcase the Skwama Lite, a new shoe that the company says strikes the right balance between comfort and performance.
The toe and heel are shaped to enhance sensitivity and improve edging and hooking, the company says, and it’s no doubt going to be top of mind for anyone attempting the Footholds Challenge, which will be the highlight activity of each tour stop.
April 8 to 9 was spent in Turin at BSide Gym.
One of the keynote athletes at that stop was Elias Iagnemma, the man behind the world’s first proposed V18, Exodia.
The tour moves on to Paris on April 13 to 14 at Climb Up Paris Porte d’Italie, where talks will centre around the history and legacy of French outdoor climbing.
Brussels will be the next stop on April 16 to 17 at Maniak Padoue.
Stockholm is up next, from April 21 to 22 at Klättercentret Telefonplan.
Munich follows April 26 to 27 at Boulderwelt München Ost.
The final stop is Vienna from April 29 to 30 at Boulderbar Hauptbahnhof.
The World Tour is something of a La Sportiva tradition. In previous years, the shoe manufacturer has brought star athletes like Adam Ondra and Babsi Zangerl to gyms across the world.
