Poland Offers MiG-29 Modernization to Ukraine Conditional on External Funding

Polish Defense Minister Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz stated that Poland is prepared to assist Ukraine in modernizing MiG-29 fighter jets, provided that Ukraine or allied countries cover the associated financial costs. This condition was outlined amid ongoing bilateral negotiations regarding the transfer of Polish MiG-29s to the Ukrainian Air Force in exchange for Polish access to Ukrainian drone technologies. The Polish General Staff confirmed the active discussions, noting that the MiG-29 aircraft are nearing the end of their operational life in Poland and are being replaced by newer F-16 and FA-50 fighters.
