Homicide suspected after missing man's remains found in Fraser River

Police are seeking public help after the body of Julian Wich, missing from Prince George since January, was discovered in the Fraser River.

The body of a missing man found in the Fraser River has been deemed a homicide by RCMP.

Julian Wich, 29, had been reported missing in Prince George on Jan. 2, after his family hadn’t seen him in nearly a month. His body was discovered in the Fraser River on June 19.

RCMP said there were “suspicious circumstances” surrounding his disappearance, leading the serious crime unit to take over the file. The ensuing investigation after the discovery of his body led police to call his death a homicide.

“We are asking that anyone who may have information relating to the death of Julian Wich to come forward and speak with police. Even information that may seem insignificant could assist us in advancing this investigation,” said RCMP Cpl. Jennifer Cooper.

Anyone with information related to this investigation is asked to contact Prince George RCMP at (250) 561-3300 and quote file number 2026-141.
