A B.C. man is suing a U.S. television company, a U.K. TV production company and his ex-wife for defamation after her statements that he had beaten her were aired in a series on A&E called “Secrets of the Hells Angels.”
Michael Robatzek filed the lawsuit that alleges his ex-wife, Kerri Krysko, defamed him through statements that he pulled her hair, punched her, threw her, and beat her over prolonged periods of up to 10 hours. The lawsuit, filed in B.C. Supreme Court, also says she said he threatened to kill her.
“The defamatory statements were understood to mean that the plaintiff threatened and physically abused his former spouse,” it said.
Robatzek, a former Hells Angel, denies the allegations, calling them “false and malicious.”
“On or about April 14, 2026, the series was released and aired to the public on A&E Television, which explicitly refers to the plaintiff by name and by use of his image,” the lawsuit said.
The U.S.-based A&E and Arrow International Media, based in London, are included as defendants.
The lawsuit claims Krysko made the statements with “malice” or a “reckless indifference to the truth.”
It says she included the same statements in her two novels, “Kerri On” and “Kerried Away.”
Robatzek is seeking damages, including loss of business opportunity, substantial and persisting injury to his professional reputation, injury to pride, self confidence, mental health and to professional and personal relationships.
