A 32-year-old Surrey man has been charged with sexual assault after two incidents aboard buses last spring and summer.

On July 8, 2025, a woman reported being sexually assaulted on a bus in Surrey and a suspect was arrested by Metro Vancouver Transit Police .

Investigators linked the suspect to a second sexual assault on another Surrey bus in April 2025. That case came to light after it was disclosed to a school counsellor.

On Wednesday, Transit Police Const. Amanda Steed announced charges have been approved against Mohammed Wardak.

Wardak has been released with court-imposed conditions including not to ride any transit bus, SkyTrain or the West Coast Express.

“Transit Police encourage anyone who has experiences or witnesses a sexual offence on transit to report it,” said Steed. “Reducing sexual offences on transit is a priority for us, and we take all reports seriously.”
