Poland’s Orlen Says It Is ‘in Talks’ Over a Stake in Ukraine’s Ukrnafta

Poland’s largest energy concern Orlen has entered talks over acquiring a stake in Ukrnafta, CEO Ireneusz Fafara said Thursday, describing the company as one of several partners in an active negotiation process. The move follows years of deepening commercial ties: Orlen’s Mažeikiai refinery sells nearly 18 percent of its output in Ukraine, and the group ships around 1.5 million tonnes of fuel products there annually.
