BURSTFederal Trade Commission (FTC) Chair Andrew Ferguson will testify Thursday morning before a House Appropriation subcommittee on oversight of the agency.
The hearing comes after President Trump paused his reciprocal tariffs on most countries and lowered tariffs of 145 percent on China.
It also follows backlash over Trump's controversial ouster of two former FTC officials earlier this year, which has brought the agency's independence into question. Ferguson defended the move, arguing the staffers' work was "inconsistent" with the administration's policies.
The hearing is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. EDT.
