Transit police check nets B.C. man wanted on 8 Canada-wide warrants in Sask.

Metro Vancouver Transit Police say they’ve arrested a Surrey man wanted on eight Canada-wide arrest warrants in Estevan, Saskatchewan.

Emmanuel Enocent Dario, 36, was taken into custody while a mobile team did impaired-driving enforcement near Surrey Central Station on Thursday, Aug. 27, shortly before 8 p.m.

He’s held in-custody pending his next court appearance, transit police say.

“We are proud to have removed a wanted criminal from our community in partnership with policing partners,” Const. Sunny Kainth said in a news release posted on MVTP’s website.

In Saskatchewan, Dario is wanted for two counts of possession for the purposes of trafficking a controlled substance, two counts of failure to comply with release order, two counts of failure to attend court, one count of possession of property obtained by crime and one count of obstructing a peace officer.
