New Crag in Squamish for 5.10 Climbers

The Alpine Club of Canada (ACC) Squamish section has announced a new crag not far from town. They thanks the several volunteers who helped clean and establish the routes.

“We’re super excited to announce that a group of dedicated volunteers from the ACC Squamish Section has been hard at work over the past year developing a brand new crag—the Grotto, and it’s ready for visitors,” the club announced. “Located in the popular Crumpit Woods area, this new crag features 7 routes ranging from 5.7 to 5.10d. It’s been fully cleaned, bolted, and documented.”

The routes are Timmy Tibble 5.7, Tommy Tibble 5.7, Snuffaluffajugs 5.9, Zaboomafoo 5.10d, I’ll Take Care of You Birdie 5.10c, Fred Penner is My Copilot 5.10b, and A Beau(ful Day in the Neighbourhood 5.10a. Click here for the Grotto topo.

The ACC was co-founded in 1906 by Arthur Oliver Wheeler, who served as its first president, and Elizabeth Parker, a journalist for the Manitoba Free Press. It’s a great club to be a member of, visit here for more information.
