Stomped: Chicoutimi Sagueneens’ Tourigny handed ban for remainder of Memorial Cup

Chicoutimi Sagueneens player Jordan Tourigny has been suspended by the CHL for the rest of the Memorial Cup.

Tourigny’s suspension comes a day after the Sagueneens’ game against the Kitchener Rangers, in which Tourigny was seen stomping on the foot of opponent Christian Humphrey multiple times.

“All discipline matters, along with officiating assignments, at the 2026 Memorial Cup are handled by the NHL. Following its review, the NHL recommended that Tourigny be suspended for the duration of the tournament,” the CHL said in a media release.

The recommendation was accepted by both the Memorial Cup Games Committee and the CHL Executive Council.

Tourigny’s suspension is effective immediately.
