The Senate, after days of negotiation and an overnight vote-a-rama, appears close to the finish line on a vote for President Trump's "big, beautiful" spending and tax bill.
Senate Majority Leader John Thune (R-S.D.) said Tuesday he is ready to proceed with a make-or-break vote on the 940-page GOP megabill. Republicans can only afford to lose three votes in order to advance the reconciliation package.
Three GOP lawmakers have already come out against the legislation, including Sens. Susan Collins (Maine), Rand Paul (Ky.) and Thom Tillis (N.C.). So, all eyes will be on Sen. Lisa Murkowski (R-Alaska), who had voiced some reservations.
