Man dies after being shot in parking lot of Langley Cactus Club

Police say the investigation is still in its early stages, but signs point to a targeted shooting.

One person is dead after a Monday night shooting outside the Cactus Club restaurant in Langley.

At about 9:45 p.m. Langley RCMP were called to reports of shots being fired in the 6000-block of 200th Street.

First responders found a shooting victim in medical distress who died of their injuries at the scene, said Sgt. Zynal Sharoom. The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) has been called in.

Less than 20 minutes later, police received a report of a vehicle on fire near 232nd Street and 75th Avenue in Langley, and investigators are working to determine if the two incidents are linked.

Investigators will be in the area on Tuesday gathering video surveillance footage and talking to witnesses.

Sharoom said any further information on the investigation will come from IHIT.

Anyone with information who hasn’t already spoken to police is asked to call the IHIT info line at 1-877-551-4448 or email ihitinfo@rcmp-grc.gc.ca .
