Former President Biden will give remarks Tuesday afternoon from Chicago in support of disability rights, marking his first speech since leaving the White House earlier this year.
Biden's speech will headline the national conference of Advocates, Counselors and Representatives for the Disabled (ACRD), according to a release from the organization. The event is set to focus on rallying bipartisan support for Social Security.
The event comes amid fears from Democrats that President Trump’s attempts to cut government bureaucracy and spending could ultimately damage Social Security and hurt those who depend on it.
Martin O'Malley, who served as the director of the Social Security Administration under the Biden administration, will also give remarks.
The event is scheduled to begin at 5:45 p.m. EDT.
