West Kelowna wellness practitioner charged with sexual assault

A mugshot of 65-year-old Dong Lin of West Kelowna was charged with sexual assault in February 2025.

After charging a West Kelowna man with sexual assault, RCMP have issued a public plea for any other potential victims to come forward.

In late January 2025, West Kelowna RCMP officers arrested 65-year-old Dong Lin in response to allegations received earlier that month. He has since been charged with sexual assault. Police are now releasing his photo in hopes of generating more information.

“Allegations of sexual assault against someone providing massage services are extremely concerning” said West Kelowna media relations officer Cpl. Devon Gerrits. “Although a charge has been laid, we are releasing a photo of Dong Lin as we believe there may be people with additional information that could assist in advancing the investigation, and we urge them to contact us.”

Lin has been released on bail, with the condition that he must not practice acupuncture or any other paramedical service in a one-on-one setting with female clients.

Anyone with information, or wishes to report, is asked to contact the West Kelowna RCMP at 250-768-2880.

In February, the College of Complementary Health Professionals placed an interim order on Lin, prohibiting him from treating females, among other conditions. He also must immediately post a statement that he is prohibited from treating female patients in a prominent position on all online booking pages associated with his practice, as well as a prominent position in any treatment room where he practices. He was also required to give the college electronic access to his calendar, and be subject to random on-site audits of his practice by a college-appointed inspector.
