Boy, 16, stabbed by another teen on Vancouver's west side

A teenager is facing charges after a 16-year-old boy was stabbed during a fight in Vancouver.

The “violent confrontation” was reported around 8 p.m. Saturday at West 16th Avenue and Wallace Street in the West Point Grey neighbourhood.

The injured teen “had been stabbed a number of times and was taken to hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries,” said Visintin in a statement on Sunday.

The suspect took off before police arrived but was arrested by VPD officers at his home. He was released into the custody of his parents until a court appearance on Aug. 21.

Visintin said investigators believe the victim and suspect knew each other.
