Oriane Bertone Wins Overall Boulder World Cup Season

With the wrap-up of the 2025 Boulder World Cup season last weekend, Oriane Bertone of France won her first overall boulder season. She’s the first climber not named Natalia Grossman to win the title since 2019. Team Japan’s Mao Nakamura earned silver and Team USA’s Annie Sanders earned bronze. In winning gold, Bertone becomes the first Frenchwoman to claim the Boulder Series title since Juliette Danion in 2007.

Bertone had a very consistent Boulder World Cup season in 2025, making the podium in four out of the six events. She won gold in Prague and silvers in Keqiao, Curitiba, and Innsbruck. In Salt Lake City she missed the podium by one spot, placing fourth. Bern was her worst result of the season where she failed to make finals in 10th place. She has not competed in any Lead comps yet this year.

“I’ve always struggled to climb consistently, firstly between trainings, then comp rounds, and different stages all year were no exception,” said Bertone on Instagram after winning the season. “Knowing this, and before this season started, we decided this year would be about consistency, and the overall ranking felt like a good goal to aim for. This season wasn’t easy, it was probably the hardest I’ve done actually, but also the most fulfilling. I’m proud and so excited to bring back home (along with the silver WC and gold overall medals) the feeling of a great season – long, draining, but full of successes and lessons.”
