
A big rig carrying 45,000 litres of acid crashed into the ditch along Hwy. 402 on Wednesday afternoon, closing a section of the westbound lanes, police say.
Ontario Provincial Police Sgt. Ed Sanchuk said it was about 1 p.m. on Wednesday when a passenger vehicle “cut off” a transport truck, which crashed into the ditch. He said there were no serious injuries but the big rig was carrying 45,000 litres of m onochloroacetic acid.

The westbound lanes of the 402 were closed between Centre Road and Kerwood Road – west of London, near Strathroy – and were expected to open at some point on Thursday afternoon.
Wanted man turns himself in: London police
A Woodstock man facing charges in a human trafficking investigation involving a teen has turned himself in to London police.
Police asked the public for help finding Cory Robert Fowler, 42, on Wednesday and released his photo.
Fowler is now in custody, police said Thursday.
Investigators obtained an arrest warrant for Fowler following an investigation that started in April when a woman contacted police.
The woman became involved in sex work in October 2023 after meeting a man online, police said.
The man, who advertised the woman’s services on the internet, assaulted the woman at an Exeter Road hotel during an argument over the woman leaving the arrangement, police said.
Fowler is charged with trafficking a person under 18, financial or material benefit of trafficking a person under 18, financial or material benefit from sexual services provided by a person under 18, procuring a person under 18, advertising another person’s sexual services and assault.
