Watch live: Trump to make defense-related announcement from White House

President Trump is set to make an announcement from the Oval Office Tuesday afternoon.

“The President will be making an exciting announcement related to the Department of Defense," White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt said in a statement.

The Trump administration is expected to unveil a new location for Space Command, moving the agency's headquarters from Colorado to Alabama, according to the Associated Press.

The event also comes just over a week after Trump floated that he could move soon to rename the Department of Defense as the Department of War.

“Pete Hegseth has been incredible with the, as I call it, the Department of War," he said last month. "You know, we call it the Department of Defense, but between us, I think we’re going to change the name."

The announcement is scheduled to begin at 2 p.m. EDT.
