Stefano Ghisolfi has climbed Chris Sharma’s Neanderthal 5.15b in Santa Linya, Spain. Ghisolfi is on a roll as last month he climbed The Full Journey 5.15b and Sleeping Lion 5.15b.
“I tried it for the first time at the beginning of March and felt good on it, I like the power and endurance style,” Ghisolfi said on 8a.nu. “On the second day I was already able to climb from the ground to the crux move, where I fell four times before the send.”
Ghisolfi now plans to try Fight or Flight 5.15b to complete his objective at climbing four 5.15b routes in Spain during his current visit. He’s currently one of the world’s leading climbers with several 5.15c sends, including Perfecto Mundo, Change, Bibliographie, and Excalibur.
“After I stuck the move yesterday I didn’t fall, but it’s actually hard until the top. It took me 9 days in total, same as the full journey,” he said. Neanderthal has also been climbed by Adam Ondra and Jakob Schubert.
