The Supreme Court will hear arguments Tuesday morning in a case challenging a Colorado law that bans mental health care providers from engaging minors in conversion therapy.
In the practice, now discredited, therapists attempt to change a person's sexual orientation or gender identity to align with cisgender norms.
Democrats have pressed the nation's highest court to uphold the ban, calling the controversial technique harmful and a violation of medical ethics. An appeals court last September ruled in favor of the ban.
The event is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. EDT.
