Artemis II has successfully taken off to begin its journey to the far side of the moon (Report, 2 April). Meanwhile, this bank holiday, our grandson has been unable to travel by train from Manchester to Luton to support Peterborough United without multiple changes and replacement buses. Some direct journeys are still beyond the capabilities of man.

• Your report (Relief for astronauts as fault fixed on Nasa’s $30m Artemis II toilet, 2 April) makes me recall hearing on radio that it’s “a crude mission to see the backside of the moon”.
