Police are investigating after a woman’s body was found in a Delta field after an early morning fire on Wednesday.
Delta police said the fire was discovered around 6:10 a.m. Wednesday in a field located in the 6400-block of River Road.
After first responders put out the fire, they discovered a woman’s body.
“Investigators are working to determine the circumstances surrounding the death and confirm the identity of the deceased,” said Staff Sgt. Mike Whiteley in a statement.
The 6400-block of River Road is a sparsely populated area, with industrial buildings on the north side and farmland on the south.
Police are now asking anyone who drove that block of River Road in the early morning hours to contact police and share anything they may have seen. Police are interested in reviewing any dashboard camera footage that may have been filmed in the area.
