The Senate Judiciary Committee is set to probe President-elect Trump's plan to execute the largest deportation of migrants in U.S. history when he returns to office next month.
The committee hearing will focus on ways the move could potentially harm Americans, the military and the economy, according to the website. Witnesses include former Army personnel and border security experts.
Trump, who has vowed to declare an immigration national emergency and use military assets to support the goal, has already named several key players to aid in his mission. With a bevy of immigration programs and birthright citizenship policy at risk, Democrats have pushed back on the threat, with some blue state governors signaling they would not comply.
The hearing is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. EST.
