Hard Sport and Boulder Sends from This Week

We’re late into fall but there are still prime sending conditions at several crags and bouldering areas this week. Here are a few noteworthy climbs to know about.

Will Bosi has climbed several hard problems lately, including Asagimadara V15, Decided V14 and Hoto V14 in Japan. Over the past 12 months he’s climbed 15 boulders from V14 to V17 and nearly 20 5.14d to 5.15c. “Asaigmadara was by far the best boulder I sent and one of the best lines I’ve ever done,” he said on 8a.nu. “The line is around 15-20 metres high in total and the hard climbing only stops almost half way up the boulder, so it’s a real mental challenge as well as physical.”

Buster Martin repeated Supercrackinette, a 5.15a in Saint Leger, France. It was first climbed by Alex Megos in 2016 and then famously flased by Adam Ondra. “It’s been amazing to tick this iconic route, especially one that Adam Ondra famously flashed—it’s cool to share a connection with such a legendary climb,” Martin said. “I’ve made more sacrifice in my life over the last year or so and it’s really paid off.

In Arco, Stefano Ghisolfi climbed his 54th route 5.14d or harder with the first ascent of Escaladur 5.14d. Dai Koyamada, who’s now 48 years old, made the first ascent of Kaikien V15 in Japan. Tanguy Merard repeated Nova V15 in the Czech Republic. American Melina Costanza climber her first V14 with Direct North on the Grandma Peabody. And Jorge Diaz Rullo released a video of him in Flatanger – watch below.
