The Toronto Blue Jays have agreed to a minor-league deal with left-hander Eric Lauer, Sportsnet’s Shi Davidi reports.
If Lauer pitches in the majors, he will earn $2.2 million plus incentives based on starts and innings, Davidi adds.
Toronto drafted Lauer in the 17th round of the 2013 MLB Draft, but he chose to go to college. The San Diego Padres then selected him in the first round of the 2016 MLB Draft.
The 29-year-old pitched last season in KBO with the Kia Tigers. Lauer made seven starts with the Korean club, recording 37 strikeouts and 12 walks through 34.2 innings.
In 120 MLB appearances with the Padres and Milwaukee Brewers, Lauer has a career 4.30 ERA with 567 strikeouts, 230 walks and 1.37 WHIP.
