Veteran news host Dan Abrams announced Thursday that his show "Dan Abrams Live" on the cable network NewsNation will come to an end in February.
Abrams, in his statement, suggested he needed to be "practical" about what the future holds and what is "possible" to do every day. He also thanked his team and advisers for their work on the show, which first aired in 2021.
"With the help of an amazing production team, I'm incredibly proud of the show we have done day in and day out,” Abrams said during Thursday night’s broadcast. “With their thoughtful and strategic preparation and efforts at fairness, Ad Fontes Media, which rates accuracy and media bias, have us dead center on their right-left media bias chart.“
While the show may be ending, he said he would be staying with the network in some capacity.
Abrams reflected on his decision in 2021 to join the network, saying that his start with the channel stemmed from a want to fill a “hole” for “politically agnostic” news coverage in cable media.
“[NewsNation President Sean Compton and I] shared the view that every other news channel was effectively cheerleading for one side or another,” he said.
The network has yet to announce who will fill the 9 p.m. EST slot currently held by "Dan Abrams Live."
The television personality also hosts a weekend show, “On Patrol Live,” that follows police in real time and a daily radio show on Sirius XM.
NewsNation is owned by Nexstar Media Group, which also owns The Hill.
