When it rains, it pours for the Buffalo Sabres.
One night after returning from a seven-game injury absence, Sabres captain Rasmus Dahlin was again out of the lineup on Saturday against the Boston Bruins.
The star defenceman previously was sidelined by back spasms. He played more than 27 minutes in a loss to the Toronto Maple Leafs on Friday.
Dahlin has six goals and 13 assists in 26 games this season.
The Sabres entered Saturday’s game in last place in the NHL standings after losing their previous 12 games.
The team owns the longest playoff drought in the NHL (13 years).
